New Hobbies

My family is so creative. With endless energy, both Pete and Amelia are finding new ways to spend their time . . . and provide me with new messes to clean up.

Here are some of Pete's latest creations:




A wedding cake. Just for fun. And practice.

And here are the lovely cupcakes he made for my sister Sharon's baby shower:


Chocolate with chocolate mousse icing above, and lemon with raspberry cheesecake icing below. Definately the hit of the shower. I couldn't even get any photos of them arranged on the platters because they were snatched up too fast.

My New Look: Frankenstein

I knew it would get me eventually, but I had no idea it would be so soon. Alas, all of 26 years old and I had my first skin cancer surgery last Wednesday. Check it out:



Just a basal cell carcinoma. But still. The good news is I am now cancer free, and the doc said it really shouldn't scar too noticeably.

I think I may have created a monster. No, not really, but ever since we bought Amelia a hat at the Latin American Festival in Provo, she's been really into hats. All hats. Everyone's hats. Here are a few pics:
